3 day weekends are the best! I've been having a very relaxing weekend. Seth and I headed up to Westchester just to get out of the city for a little while. We ended up meeting up with his good friends (and got to see their new baby!) and also had a BBQ.
We also took a walk along the Croton Aqueduct which runs up in Westchester and was turned into a park. It apparently once ran water all the way down to Bryant Park. The walk was really pretty with all kinds of nice trees providing a shady pleasant walk. It also leads into a different pretty park called Untermyer Estate where we also walked a little.
This morning I had a separate mini adventure with Monica and Jarod where we walked the Brooklyn Bridge. It was my first time and was fun to see the city from that angle.

Happy Birthday To Me!
I turned 27 this weekend! I had a fabulous birthday weekend full of fun surprises and adventures!
On Saturday Seth and I went to the Central Park Zoo. I had never been and we thought it would be a fun outing. The zoo is cute, but definitely small and about 90% birds. There were also sea lions, and snow leopards and amphibian/reptile type animals, but all in all, mostly birds. Even the little 4D short film was about the animated movie Rio, also about birds.
My favorite part was getting to see the sea lions being fed by the trainers. They were so funny and so excited to get fish!
When I got back, my roommates surprised me and Kari had made a fancy rainbow cake! Not only was it bright and colorful, it was also full of candy. That's right, she made me a piƱata cake! It was funfetti flavored and delicious.
Then on Sunday, my actual birthday, I went to my favorite (well the only one I know in the city) Hungarian restaurant on the upper east side with Seth, Kari, and Monica. I had Wienerschnitzel which was delicious. We all got a different dessert so we could try everything. I think my chocolate palacsinta was the best though.
My dad was also silly and posted this picture on facebook of birthdays through the ages. Ain't I a cutie?
